We multiply our genes

Dalia

We multiply our genes
so you can credify your ballot
The blister only seems sinister
because the medical report
is not evidence
We down here are not no reason
No –
You can be bribed to believe we are important

The artificial snack food preservative powder
tastes the same as your tee are sea

Yet alone we stand alone
on high and touch the standard meaningless preposterous
allegations that your homogenized languages suggest
with your determinations and your recognitions and your affirmations,
the interpreter is less coherent than the one whose bright foreign cries fade into the naught of ignorance and translation’s loss

Yet we down here see to it that your native tongues are watered fed and nurtured
While you up there tread the night skies mightily
and shred the ever wondering boxed-in curious

My stilts cannot see to it
that your bravery lives in no more than an air conditioned room
that you wear a suit and spread marmalade on toast in an air conditioned room
With domesticated pets and clicky pens
Ninety nine shadows hid in the dark dungeon den
Found.
